CARLA URIARTE

Carla is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice focuses on painting, design, writing and video. The symbols used within her art include: fire (the soul), tapestry folk-like borders (her Filipino heritage), waves (rebirth), birds (fleeting feelings and movement), horses (galloping with intense purpose), butterflies (metamorphosis), sun (stability, home and warmth).

Carla's worked with labels such as Romance Was Born, Ganni, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Incu, Art Helps Heaps, and Vice. Her previous exhibitions include The Ladies Network 2014 - 2016, The Paramount House Solo exhibition ‘The most boring story part 1’ 2017. ‘Feelings’ 2024. She was previously the Head Curator at Down Under Gallery 2017 - 2020, as well as Co-founder and Head Curator of Abstract Thoughts Gallery 2020 - 2023. She is currently Creative Director and co owner of Cafe Freda’s.
